Historic Newspapers

I was impressed when I found the Australian Historic Newspapers website http://ndpbeta.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/home - a great resource for me for family tree research. I’ve found a heap of stuff on a number of my Brisbane ancestors,  and I can’t wait for them to add more content. The OCR software doesn’t do a great job all the time, but I can’t get to the libraries to access this type of info.

But yesterday I found the New Zealand equivalent http://paperspast.natlib.govt.nz/cgi-bin/paperspast and I think it was better. I’m guessing maybe no OCR software was involved, possibly everything was manually entered, but the scans are still there. Well done to the National Library of NZ.
